 Day 1: Depart USA to India. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.
Day 2: Arrive to Delhi and transfer to your hotel: The Connaught.
Day 3: Transfer to the airport for your flight to Calcutta. A vibrant city with a distinct socio-political culture, Calcutta, or Kolkata, is noted for its revolutionary history, ranging from the Indian struggle for independence to the leftist and trade union movements. Referred to as the "Cultural Capital of India", "The City of Processions", and the "City of Joy", it is known for its literary, artistic and revolutionary heritage. Meet your our director upon arrival, who will assist you with a transfer and check-in to your hotel: Hindustan International. (B)
Day 4: Enjoy your full day city tour of Calcutta visiting Jain Temple popularly known as Glass Temple, and Kumartolly, potters village. Afternoon visit Victoria Memorial, which is one of the oldest museums in Calcutta, Flower Market and Dalhousie Square in the former British Colonial Area. See the Howrah Bridge, famous city landmark. You may see also the Light and Sound show at the Victoria Memorial at night. (B)
Day 5: Morning after breakfast check out from your hotel and transfer to airport to connect flight to Bagdogra. On arrival at Bagdogra airport our representative will assist you for drive to Darjeeling. On reaching Darjeeling check in to the hotel New Elgin and rest of the day free for own activities. Darjeeling is internationally famous for its tea industry and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tea plantations date back to the mid 1800s as part of a British development of the area. (B,D)
Day 6: After breakfast depart for your full day sightseeing tour visiting Kanchanjunga Views, Observatory Hill and Ghoom Gompa, which is basically the statue of Buddha. See tea plantations around the town. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Morning is free followed by drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Known for its clean surroundings and temperate climate, this hill station of about fifty thousand people is the center of Sikkim's tourist industry. Check in to your hotel: Nor-Khill. (B,L,D)
Day 8: After breakfast depart for the city tour of Gangtok visiting Parmesan Nadia Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway, Tensing, or Gumbo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center, Tea Estate, Lebong Race Course, Peace Pagoda and Rock Garden - Gangamaya Park. (B,L,D)
Day 9: This day you will continue your exploration of Sikkim. Your hotel in Kalimpong will be Silver Oaks. Your late afternoon sightseeing tour will include visiting monasteries and flower nurseries. (B,L,D)
Day 10: Leave the territory of India and cross the border to Bhutan. Your first town in the country will be Phuntsholing. There is a stark contrast in the culture across the border, which is marked by a typical Tibetan style gate. On arrival check in to hotel: Druk Phuntsholing. (B,L,D)
Day 11: After breakfast visit Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang and then proceed to the capital of Bhutan en route visiting Kharbandi Gompba. While approaching the city visit to Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom which now houses the School for religious and cultural studies. arrive to Thimphu and check in to your hotel: Druk Thimphu. Day 12: Morning after breakfast sightseeing of Thimpu visiting the Memorial Chorten, which is a huge stupa built in memory of the third King of Bhutan. Visit the National Library, where ancient manuscripts are preserved. Next visit the Painting School, where traditional art is still kept alive through instructions in the art of painting Thankas, sacred Buddhist scrolls. Afternoon visit Tashichho Dzong, the main secretariat building. This massive fortress houses part of the government ministries, the office of the King and the Throne Room. It also houses the State Monastic Body and the office and the living quarters of the Chief Abbot. Visit the Handicrafts Emporium where Bhutanese textiles and other arts and crafts are displayed and can be purchased. (B,L,D)
Day 13: After an early breakfast, leave Thimphu and visit Ta Dzong, originally built as a watchtower, which now houses the National Museum. The extensive collection includes antique thanka paintings, textiles, weapons and armour, household objects and a rich assortment of natural and historic artifacts. Then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, meaning fortress of the heap of jewels, which has a long and fascinating history. Along the wooden galleries lining the inner courtyard are fine wall paintings illustrating Buddhist lore such as four friends, the old man of long life, the wheel of life, scenes from the life of Milarepa, Mount Sumeru and other cosmic Mandala. Arrive to Paro, which is located in the picturesque valley, and check in to your hotel: Uma. (B,L,D)
Day 14: In the morning drive to Drukgyel Dzong, a ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders centuries ago. The snowy dome of sacred Chomolhari, or Mountain of Goddess, can be seen in all her glory from the approach road to the Dzong. Along the way, see the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built in the Himalayas by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo. The building of this temple marks the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan. Then take a trek to Taktsang Monastery. The name Taktsang means Tiger's Nest. The monastery is perched on a rocky ledge with a sheer drop of nearly 800 meters and overlooks the Paro Valley and river. Return to Paro after the tour. (B,L,D)
Day 15: In the morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Transfer and check in to your hotel: The Connaught. Afternoon is free with a half-day city tour as an option. (B)
Day 16: Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
